A week in summery

This week was rough. I feel like each stress on my mind is a Katana. In essence I have swords stabbing my brain from all directions.

I got through my first week

So this week was, to say the least, turbulent at times. But I made it through, and I know I'll be able to pull it off. I hardly worked though, but that was expected since I was still settling in. Changing my major was the best thing I could have done. I've taken a few pictures that I've posted as a Flickr set.

A new standard

Last year I became use to text messaging during class if I needed to. I'm switching my stance on that - and while I'll probably be able to check the messages when I get them, I'm not responding to any during class. Of course I am writing this during a class, but I just had to write this down somewhere.

I just ordered myself a new phone

Forget being held hostage after spending over half a grand on an iPhone. I totally can't wait to get my new HTC Vox. It was two-thirds the price of an iPhone. I haven't had a new phone in almost two years.

Recycle something new

Do you have a pair of old glasses, or even broken ones that could be repaired laying around doing nothing? I know I have a really old pair, and maybe one from when I was a kid too. I will be recycling them very soon. Check it out!

It's almost noon

A storm kept me up pretty late last night. But I also wasn't tired before it hit. I ended up sleeping until a little after 10. I feel refreshed, but I wish it were cooler outside.

Wake up NASA

It's seriously time to stop flying these shuttles into space.

From Jakob Lodwick

Google AdWords or AdSense (or whatever the fuck it's called -- not worth looking up) is a huge scam. -Jakob You're 100% correct, so why did Vimeo implement AdSense?

Plus/Minus

Why hadn't I heard of +/- before yesterday? I like their sound a lot.

Interest in Hybrid cars falling

NPR tries to determine why Americans are losing interest in hybrids. They point out that "the U.S. Department of Energy says in the seven years that hybrids have been available here, the total amount of gasoline saved adds up to less than the amount the United States imports every day."

Quick thought

I've always been fascinated by Asia, especially peaceful Japan. The more I read about the content, the more interested I am becoming. There's a lot going on over there. Sustainable growth could really benefit the people and nations of Asia. And ASU has a lot of strong projects going on in China. Just saying.

Green at work

Yesterday an Arizona building got LEED Platinum certified for the first time. A building I'm in daily: Biodesign's Building B. I actually work in Building A - which is gold certified. It's a very high designation; one of only five gold facilities in the state. Exciting!
